RUF bark Briquettes can burn for up to 16 hours, which is an exceptionally long time. It’s not that they will catch fire if you poke them the next morning; rather, it just means that the stove is still fairly warm and the ashes still have some light to them. Bark does yield more ash; more ash means a larger heat store, but it also means more ash to remove the following day.

In the following mixing ratios: 90:10, 80:20, 70:30, 60:40, and 50:50 for the charcoal particles and vice versa for the pine sawdust. To compare with the blended briquettes, briquettes made from pure charcoal particles and pine sawdust were also made separately.
